The Giant Trees Foundation, with its project "Give birth to a new forest", has created a series of initiatives to rebuild some forests for experimental purposes. This includes a series of innovative Forest Summer Schools aimed at national and foreign agricultural (technical or professional) institutions, which allow children to acquire knowledge, experience, dexterity and valuable information for their professional future in the field of forest management.
The project "Give birth to a new wood" has been inspired by the floods of October 2018 (Storm Vaia), which have upset the territories of the regions of North East Italy. We believe that the tragedy that has struck our country and specifically Friuli, where the Foundation was founded, with climatic events of disastrous proportions that have swept away entire forests with millions of cubic metres of trees destroyed, should make us reflect deeply.
An adventure, a journey into the green world that surrounds us. Discover the older trees to get to know them and look at them closely. Every month we will organize a meeting with one or more of these living beings in the woods and parks of our wonderful region.
60 million trees in Italy, the Great Green Wall of Africa, our forests devastated by Vaia. What do they have in common? Our active help and participation of our volunteers!
The project 1 tree x 4 seasons aims to make known to small groups of boys and/or adults the same tree in the four different seasons, observing it, touching it, listening to it, smelling it and climbing it safely.
We consider education to be absolutely fundamental in order to grow a new sensibility and a true knowledge of the trees, which allows them to be respected, protected and truly loved.
We host and give visibility to national and international artists and craftsmen eager to create works of art using dead wood of large and small species, so as to give it a second life
Once a year we organize an international convention where we discuss various topics around the care, conservation and management of trees and forests.
We want to help the people living in the forest to protect themselves from COVID-19.

Beyond the peaks, above the tops of the larger trees..what is there? Together with a group of local scholars we will go to the Amazon rainforest in order to study the biodiversity in the foliage over 50 meters.
Every year, usually the second week of August, we organize a week of intense coexistence at the "Tana", with the presence of adults and children who are committed to a common goal.
